Our Story: Neurodivergent Leadership & Lived Experience
The Journey from Burnout to Advocacy
I founded Greyhame because I have lived the highs and lows of being a neurodiverse leader. For years, I navigated a professional world that wasn't built for my brain, eventually hitting the wall of autistic and ADHD burnout.
I spent years facing challenges I thought were universal:
Hyperfocus vs. Basic Needs: Becoming so absorbed in strategy that I’d forget to eat or drink.
Communication Gaps: Meticulously explaining ideas only to feel misunderstood or rejected.
The Social Enigma: Being praised for a "brilliant strategic mind" while struggling to decode unspoken social norms.
Despite my strengths, the lack of neuro-inclusive support left me feeling "othered" rather than accepted. I knew there had to be a better way for neurodivergent professionals to lead.
Bridging the "Us and Them" Divide in Business
My professional journey highlighted a significant gap: most organizations lack the framework to support neurodivergent individuals. However, I also realized that treating neurotypical and neurodivergent people as "us and them" prevents real progress.
True business change happens when everyone is heard, and the best outcomes are achieved through mutual understanding rather than forced assimilation.
A Unique, Strengths-Based Approach to Coaching
These experiences have crafted Greyhame’s personal style of neurodivergent coaching. We move away from clinical "disability" models and focus on:
Honouring Individual Needs: Tailoring strategies that work for your specific brain.
Preventing Burnout: Learning to achieve excellence without sacrificing your wellbeing.
Growth & Integration: Helping you feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow alongside your organisation.
Whether you are seeking ADHD coaching in Cumbria or looking to transform your company culture in Lancashire, Greyhame is here to listen to your individual needs and work with you to identify tailored solutions.
